I’ve gone over why, how, and what to plan. Right now I’m going to tell you the one last piece you need to take into consideration: The context.
What I mean by the context is the combination of the environment, people, time of day, your personal experiences, and your emotions at the moment you’re doing something. It’s a law of nature that the context of a situation has a significant effect on anyone in the situation. Willpower is not always enough to do what you want. My best ideas come to me in the shower
One of my favorite one-two question combos goes like this: “Do your best ideas come to you in the shower?” The other person almost always says ‘yes’ to my question. Then I ask, “Do you know why that is?” Typically I get a puzzled look, as if they should know the answer and now realize they don’t know it. I bet it would come to them if they took a shower.
